We welcome you to the “Rural Web Energy Learning Network for Action – eReNet” website.
eReNet aims to add value to local actions in rural communities, sustaining them in the development, implementation and monitoring of their Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs) and capacity building of the related actors through knowledge transfer from experienced communities.
eReNet is an activity co-financed by the Intelligent Energy for Europe Programme and coordinated by the Decision Support Systems Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). eReNet gathers organizations from 6 EU countries, namely 7 rural EU communities (Amyntaio, Judenburg, Asenovgrad, Sertã, Dugo Selo, Sveta Nedelja, Neumarkt) and their local liaisons (NTUA, EAO, REGEA, BSERC, IrRADIARE).
The services provided include customized methodologies, web tools and applications, publications and large communication/dissemination events and material in 6 EU languages (EN, GR, CR, PT, BU, DE). Concrete results comprise the identification of RES/RUE promising projects in the communities to be included under structural funds so as to stimulate local development and employment, as well as contribution to national and EU CO2 targets. eReNet engages the population in the learning rural municipalities all over EU, through workshops, information days, training seminars and wide dissemination activities.

LEAP has been established to facilitate a network of pan-European municipalities to plan and deliver local sustainable energy solutions in line with the Covenant of Mayors. CONURBANT aims at helping medium-large cities, and the smaller towns in their urban area, through capacity building using peer-to-peer support and training between less and more experienced Municipalities, in the framework of the Covenant of Mayors. The goal of CASCADE is to design and deliver large-scale networking and mutual learning actions on local energy leadership among members of the EUROCITIES network of major European cities. Capacity building of local governments to advance Local Climate and Energy Action - from planning to action to monitoring is a 3-year project, co-funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe programme. It started in June 2011 and runs until May 2014.
